Senior/Family Photos - Makapu’u Trail

Brett is amazing in ALL areas! We booked him when Covid-19 was just approaching (Spring 2020) so we had the unintended opportunity of getting to know each other over several months as we scheduled and rescheduled our session based on closures and CDC guidelines. Brett was super understanding, flexible and patient through it all!

Brett is willing to fly to neighboring islands or shoot a session here on Oahu which was really convenient as well. We originally booked him for Maui but ended up doing our session on Oahu over Thanksgiving week and it was well worth the wait! He is so creative, so professional and easy to work with, we would highly recommend him! The hardest part is deciding which photos to enlarge up for our house which is the best compliment to him and his work. "I found Brett online when I was looking for a photographer who could capture our family on the beach, our first time to Hawaii!  As I narrowed down my search for a photographer, I really loved Brett's galleries online. I loved the way he would capture a family with drops of water flying as children raced through the water or a wave crashing on a rock as a family stood in a perfect rosy glow from a beach sunset. When I contacted photographers with our available dates, I was really impressed with Brett. He responded in less than 24 hours, sent an email with pictures as examples of what he could do based on my inquiries and had specific location ideas. I also loved that he would edit ALL the images in the package. It really sealed the deal too when he was willing to do TWO locations and TWO dates to get the perfect shots for a very reasonable price.

I was so pleased to meet him and he was such a joy to work with. My kids had a great time splashing around in the water and he captured gorgeous shots that are very natural and full of movement and life. He had a really artistic eye, and his editing was so stunning (without looking fake). You could tell Brett was having fun with our family, it was fantastic.

Finally, Brett was professional from first contact to the actual shoot and afterwards.  He was on time (even early!) both days and he immediately had photos up and edited on the gallery to choose from.  My only complaint... there were too many wonderful photos to choose from! I would absolutely recommend him and would use him again in a heartbeat!" - Mandy B.

"Brett was absolutely wonderful! When we first starting planning our wedding, my husband's friend was going to take pictures for us. He was a previous photographer and had all the equipment he said he needed. Fast forward to a little over a month before our wedding and he tells us that he can no longer photograph our wedding due to personal issues. Way to stress me out! We had spent our budget and all the wedding photographers we contacted were either booked already or way out of our budget since I had not initially included the cost of a photographer.

After a brief search for "Wedding Photographer," Brett's ad popped up. I instantly loved his pictures featured on his website and immediately contacted him via text message. He got back to me within 2 hours, thats a miracle in itself when compared to the other wedding photographers I tried to contact. He was available to meet with him pretty much that very same weekend. We met him and liked his attitude and booked him.

At our wedding, he arrived early to scope out the place and look for various places to take pictures and got pictures of all the tablescapes and decorations. He was great with dealing with our guests and our temperamental flower girls since one of them wasn't feeling good; he never got frustrated with her nor us and just went with the flow. After all our formal pictures were taken we asked him to go around and see if any of the guests wanted individual pictures and he did! All of our guests who took advantage of that already told us they want those pictures and they plan to print them out and display them.

Our wedding was this past Saturday, the 8th and we already received our pictures (on the following Tuesday, the 11th). That is absolutely amazing turn around and the pictures came out even better than expected. There were tons of formal and candid pictures which we absolutely love and the quality is breathtaking. "Middle price range, but upperclass service and results. Bravo Brett. This guy loves what he does and it shows. He was so quick with the results, and to be honest, since this was a destination wedding for us, we had no idea where to go. I touched base with Brett and he suggested a beautiful location. He had several locations on his website, and this was the one that he felt strongest about. We were a little worried about the weather because we didn't have any backup dates available, but Brett reassured us and he was right. The skies were spectacular in Honolulu. He got over 180 great shots for us, so God only knows how many he actually took. He had them up for us to review in 2 days. It was amazing. Believe me, my wife is photogenic, but he actually made me look good. Lots of great close-ups that we never would have thought about. "We hired Brett to take our family photos to celebrate our parent's 50th wedding anniversary. Our decision was influenced by a few factors:
- Unlike some other photographers, he replied to our questions fairly quickly and we were able to book a photo session. Some photographers didn't even reply to our e-mails.
- He has a great gallery on his website, while other photographers either don't have as many or the images aren't very big. We saw an island in one of the galleries and we asked if we could have our photo session there also... and he said it was a perfect setting for sunset photos.
- When I told my parents about the family photo shoot, they worried that it would be a formal shoot, but Brett made it fun and relaxed.
